NARKO TERRORISM: DRUG TRADE AS A FORM OF FINANCING OF TERRORIST ACTIVITIES
Keywords:
drug trafficking, terrorism, financing, national securityAbstract
Terrorists have always been constantly looking for ways to finance their illegal activities and costly attacks through illegal means such as drug trafficking. The paper describes the link between drug trafficking and terrorist activities, examples of transactions between different types of criminal, terrorist organizations, and narcotics suppliers and weapons. This will analyze the trends in such transactions and the implications and structure of relationships formed by the types of groups being considered. Both entities are dangerous and very unstable actors in the world of global trade and global security. The state of drug trafficking in the world will be presented where factors that undermine the national security system are examined and justified the need for cooperation between law enforcement agencies and competent authorities of foreign countries to combat illegal drug trafficking. It will also review global narco-terrorism and its theories and empirical benefits for different groups for this form of terrorism in different regions in order to provide a global assessment of the risks and relationships of these groups with international narcotics trafficking.
