Abstract

In the paper the Shanghai Cooperation Organization is considered as one of the most important international organizations in Eurasia. In the spectrum of the work is its rise in recent years, perspectives and opportunities for further development. After joining in the status of full membership of India and Pakistan, the SCO, whose leading axis are from the beginning Russia and China, has gained additional importance in international relations. Although there has been no full membership enlargement since then, the special significance has the number of countries from Asia and Europe with the status of observers, partners, as well as some other forms of cooperation status. Expanding cooperation with other international organizations, developing its operational bodies in the most various areas of economy, security, society, is further strengthening the power of the SCO. Particularly ambitious are projects in these areas, especially long-term ones, which range to more than a decade in the future. Especially to Russia, as well as China, along with the strengthening of other international organizations and integration processes in Eurasia (and wider, at the global level), all this contributes to strengthening of the alternative to the United States, NATO and the EU. These are all processes that accelerate the planetary transformation of the world order towards the multipolarism.
