PATOLOŠKO KOCKANJE I CRIMINAL

У већини култура широм света, коцкање је друштвено прихватљива и легална активност за забаву. Данас су доступне разне врсте коцкарских активности, национална лутрија, греб срећке, интернет коцкање, казино игре, спортско клађење, бинго, слот машине, приватно клађење, итд. Док је код велике већине коцкање рекреативна активност без штетних последица, код мањине ова навика напредује до патолошког коцкања, прерастајући у опсесивно компулзивни поремећај, који негативно утиче на појединца, породицу и друштво. Овај поремећај је повезан са високом стопом психијатријског коморбидитета, злоупотребом алкохола, дрога и других психоактивних супстанци. Да би финансирали своју нездраву навику патолошки коцкари неретко прибегавају криминалним активностима, од ситних кривичних дела до насилних злочина. Патолошко коцкање представља озбиљан здравствени проблем, па рана идентификација, превенција и одговарајући стручни третман могу ограничити и ублажити дугорочне штетне последице и побољшати исход за самог зависника и његово окружење.
