Abstract

The author research the historical development of the Ku Klux Klan as one of the most violent extreme right-wing organizations in USA, with special comments on its ideological and religious dimension. During the two centuries of existence, Ku Klux Klan changed methods of operation , organization and influence in society, but ideologies and aims remained almost the same. The main goal of the Klan is the supremacy of the white race and the Protestant religion, the realization of which is predominantly used by all forms of political violence, while ideology is the extreme right. A comparative analysis showed that the modern, ie. Third Klan is the weakest considering volence and its influence. The Third Klan nowaday represents a significant problem and security threat in the USA and in the international community, as well.
