Abstract

This paper examines the relationship between the Skinheads movement and politics, with an emphasis on the ideological aspects of the Skinheads movement. Even though „the first generation” of Skinheads has expressed impolicy, by showing interest in the class imprint of this youth subculture, today we can speak of the phenomenon of the Skinheads groups which lean not only towards right wing, but also toward left wing ideological values. The purpose of this paper is determining heterogeneity of the Skinheads subculture in the political and class context. It has been determined that, apart from violent Skinheads groups (which are most dominant and most numerous), there are also such groups that advocate respect of the human rights, non-violence and anti-racism, which confirms the assumption that the Skinheads movement is of a diversified character, and that it do not possesses a unique ideology or a unique identity.
