THE ATTITUDES OF POLITICAL PARTIES IN SERBIA ON THE ISSUES OF SAFETY AND MIGRANT CRISIS

Abstract

One of the most challenging and certainly the most complex issues today is the issue of security and the question of migrant crisis. Political parties play a very important role in a society. Their role is reflected in the functions they perform within society. Pathological deformations which affect parties lead to their disfunctionality, and therefore to the disturbances that occur as a consequence of these anomalies. Disorders that arise consequently endanger the democratic process and socio-political development, however, these disorders affect the attitude of the political parties on important issues. Parties in Serbia practically do not deal with security issues and the migrant crisis. Level of the functionality of the political parties is decreasing, while at the same time society is affected by high levels of partocracy. Serbia is, due to its geopolitical position, exposed and vulnerable to security risks and to strong influence of the migrant crisis. It is therefore essential that all political actors in the future devote far more attention to these important issues.
