Abstract

Throughout the paper, we are trying to draw attention to the crucial relationship between security, identity and culture, i.e. trying to get out of the frames that were previously imposed by the process of globalization. The assumption that globalization is trying to convince us in (and thus introduced us into the misery of someone else’s value systems, insidiously designed, and not an own reflection of an own value system) is that the security threat of any kind represents pathologically overprotective enemy who is willing, in order to achieve extremist irrational ideas, to sacrifice our existence as well as his own, and thus endanger the existence of the entire community. Such an approach (intentionally) overlooks the motives and causes of the emergence of terrorism (i.e. the systemical material, mental and spiritual impoverishment) as the most current security threat, seeking a response within repression and distorted prevention. By drawing attention to the consequences instead of causes, the regularity and efficiency of a response to the security challenge is disenabled. And, a true answer to all security challenges lies in preserving the true identity and the richness of culture.
