ABOUT EUROPEAN IDENTITY PERSPECTIVES

This paper considers different perspectives of the European identity regarding actual EU integrational and disintegrational potentials. Mixture of relаtions between cultural, national and political identity is presented through relevant theoretical paradigms. The fact that unique cultural identity, which units all the Europeans, doesn’t exist is proved by scientific methodology. Furthermore, thinking perspectives of European identity can’t overcome terms ethnos and nation just by ideological discourse. In the conclusion we analise possibilities of special political identity of EU citizens that doesn’t cancel national and cultural identities and is based on: sharing sovereign rights between European and national platform; participative democracy where sitizens take a part in political process more directly; guaranteed social rights.
