IMPACT OF CONTEMPORARY MIGRATIONS ON DEVELOPMENT OF EXTREMISM IN GERMANY

Contemporary migration crisis has generated two dominant forms of extremism – Islamist and right-wing extremism. Islamic-funded extremism is a consequence of wars in the Middle Eastern and North African region that have lead towards “the great migration of people”. When arriving to the European continent, migrants carry along with themselves a new culture, religion, tradition and value system, but also a new security problem, given the fact that a certain number of extremists tend to infiltrate themselves among them. As a reaction to Islamist-motivated extremism, emerges the extreme right-wing, which has a vigilant attitude towards the European value system. Having in mind that, for migrants, Germany is the most desirable destination in Europe, we may assume that this country will have to face significant security challenges in the future that will, above all, refer to the conflict between Islamist and right-wing extremists. Even though economistic theories provide us with a prognosis that the arrival of a great number of migrants will bring Europe and Germany an economic prosperity, they keep forgetting the security problems such as extremism, terrorism and organized crime, which often arrive hand-in-hand with contemporary migrations.
