Abstract

Domestic violence was previously not identified outside of „marital obligations” and was even considered to be normal, as it is today considered in many cultures. Over time, there has been a development of consciousness, especially after the 1990s, when legislation around the world began to pay attention to this type of violence. Violence against intimate partners is not limited to marriage or physical and sexual violence, nor to heterosexual couples. Serbian legislation has been struggling to get on with it, taking on progressive environmental examples.
