Abstract

The efforts of St. Sava of Serbia to acquire the autocephaly of the SOC required, among other things, a reform process through which the clergy and believing people were to go. A segment of this reform is the emergence of a code of church-canon law called the Rule. A significant number of rules touch on Christian ethics. Law has been, and will be, a source of ethics for Christian. The effort to bring believers to the Law as a powerful source of the moral value system remains a primary task for the Serbian clergy, who was commissioned directly from St. Sava.
