EUROPEISM AND NATIONALISM

The text questions one argument of Eurosceptics: could we conceive the project of European integrations as a comprehensive and rationally grounded process or it is a utopian construction that has no good perspective in the future. Тhe dispute between Europeism and Nationalism is enlightened through an analysis of what are real possibilities of existence of European Union as a multinational community. The past historical experience tells us that multinational societies are not sustainable. Taking in account that the EU is composed of the states of different economic and political power, the states in the centre and the states of the periphery, and that this difference will not be tightened in the future, it is hard to believe that hard tensions will not emerge. These types of tensions often escalate as national frustrations, what makes the Union extremely fragile.
