Keywords:
Serbia, Russia, Balkan, geopolitics, EurasiaAbstract
This work explains the perception of Serbia and the Balkans within the neo-Eurasian geopolitical conception. Through the method of subject matter analysis, the author of this work has shown how Serbia and the Balkan region is understood in the works of Alexander Dugin, Nikolay and Vladimir Nartov, Arkady Maler, Leonid Savin and Valery Korovin. Analyzing their attitudes, the author of this work has reached a conclusion that the previously mentioned authors observe Serbia and the Balkans as a whole as an important geopolitical area, which is of exceptional geostrategic importance for the Russian Federation. In addition, their position in terms of Eurasian integrations of the Balkans (Serbia) with the Russian Federation is described and commented. It is pointed out that there are shortcomings in the authors’ attitudes regarding weak implementation of integrational ideas, insufficient consideration on the cooperation models, as well as small possibilities of realizing certain ideas and projects.
