Abstract

Sport is a social phenomenon that brings together hundreds of millions of participants, through direct or indirect interrelations. Within so many people there are more than a few political and religious orientations. Since a number of sports organizations were formed on the ideas of religious and political leaders and groups, they became the spokesmen of these ideas as well. Today, in the age of global political and religious divisions and conflicts, these spokesmens are gaining much more importance. The aim of this paper is to point out the importance of sports as one of the main propaganda tools that, as such, is used to spread political and religious understanding and ideas, but also to outline and describe the ways in which practical manifestations of this relations occur.
