Abstract

Agriculture, as the most important strategic industrial sector, has an aim of assuring quality and health-safe food production. Organic production is a system of sustainable agriculture. It is based on respecting ecological principles through the rational use of natural resources, the use of renewable energy sources, the conservation of natural diversity and the protection of the environment. The future of organic agriculture depends on consumer preferences. The fact is that consumers are increasingly choosing organic products. Their behavior is influenced by numerous external and internal factors. The most significant impact on consumer purchases is made by geographic, demographic, economic, sociological and psychological factors. The aim of the paper is to identify, through a comparative analysis, the key factors that influence consumers' preferences when purchasing organic products.
