Abstract

This paper will analyze the elections for the European Parliament in two Member States of the European Union, Greece and Cyprus. This year's European Parliament elections are important not only for the future of the European Union and its further development, but for individual member states and their internal, national issues. Greece, as a member of the European Union since 1981, has been confronted with internal political turmoil and changes in this European parliamentary election, as a result of the major economic crisis that has plagued this country. Unlike Greece, Cyprus as a permanent member since 2004 in addition to the economic crisis with which it fought, has an unresolved territorial issue and the projection of the entry of the far right party that failed to achieve enough votes in the previous parliamentary elections. The aim of the paper is to analyze and present the most important political actors and their election themes, as well as to present the results of the election.
