Abstract

Government and local government is such a noneconomic sector dominated by the female workforce, but research has shown that men and women are not evenly distributed across all work positions. Practice indicates that men occupy high, and in this sense, better paid positions. Thus, on average, significant differences occur in the average earnings of men and women. This difference is particularly pronounced in relation to the level of education of men and women. The tasks of the study are related to the research of individual indicators of gender inequality in state administration and local self-government, which are statistically visible, namely: number of employees by gender, share of employed men and women by level of education in total number of employees, structure of employees by height qualifications within individual sets of employed women and men. In addition, the tasks of the research are those that point to inequality in income in relation to gender, as indicated by data on average earnings and earnings by level of education.
