COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF DEFENSE DIPLOMACY NEUTRAL EUROPEAN COUNTRIES

Abstract

By the decision of the National Assembly, The Republic of Serbia is declared military neutrality and thereby committed itself to lead the so-called policy of abstaining from interference in armed conflicts and military alliances. It is clear that defense policy is in the focus of implementation of that policy mainly through defence diplomacy, which should operationalize and implement in practice state policy of neutrality. In this context, it is important to analyze the experience of neutral states in the organization of defense diplomacy, in order to consider the possibility of eventual takeover of certain organizational solutions. It shall examine the organizational experience of Switzerland and Austria, as permanent neutral European countries, with a similar territory and population as Serbia.
