INFORMATION SYSTEMS IN THE RISK ASSESSMENT FUNCTION IN THE INSURANCE SECTOR OF THE REPUBLIC OF SERBIA

The timely acquisition and processing of data that are necessary for risk assessment is the way to success of all organizations or their individual parts that this type of information is important in the work. This is particularly important in the insurance sector, where through the realization of the basic risk transfer function, a large number of insurance services are offered to clients. The information system in the insurance company helps faster and simpler data collection, their proper processing, and then the presentation of reports with reliable and accurate information for business decision making.
In this paper will be presented the results of research on the use of information systems for risk assessment carried out by the method of surveying employees in the insurance sector in the Republic of Serbia. The results of the previous research, which were done six years earlier, will be compared, and on the basis of that, give appropriate conclusions regarding the situation in this field.
It will be pointed out justification of the development and implementation of the information system of the insurance company for the purpose of assessing the risks from the aspect of the performance of the insurance company's business.
