Abstract

In this paper we briefly presented the genesis of formulating the concept of precariat with an emphasis on those elements of Max Weber's theory that served as the theoretical basis for a more comprehensive definition of a new phenomenon. Since the overarchy is a new phenomenon in social sciences that is not sufficiently known to the domestic scientific and professional public, the main motive of the author was to present the most important theoretical and empirical postulates and the findings of the sociological study of precariat. Weber's synthetic understanding of classes was taken as the starting point for the analysis of the new concept, and in this way a holistic perspective on theoretical syncretism, which lies in the foundations of the understanding of the prescriptives, was obtained. This paper was a critical presentation of both contemporary literature and material relating to the history of the idea, and in this way received an original excursion about the non-beginning precariat (as is the case with most other analyzes) in this century, but theoretical roots and incentives are found in the works of the German sociological classics.
