The era in which we live, we can characterized as an era of globalization. One of the key characteristic of globalization is the development of international telecommunications, and the availability of cultural and informative content worldwide. Information has become the most looked - for , and those who has information and place it in the media has become very important. Journalists should respect the code of ethics and rules that apply to their profession. The main role of information should be the increase of knowledge, so that we can reconstruct the real context of social happening. Market contest and struggle for circulation has brought tabloid media to treat information as a commodity to be well placed on the media market. Tabloid journalism is characterized by the absence of ethics, professionalism and self-regulation. The only measure of success for this type of journalism is profit. There is a need for media literacy, which would help us in a sea of messages and information to evaluate which media message is manipulative and which is useful. It is necessary to think critically about the media and their messages that are led by profit and fight for positioning in the sea of information that we are covered up with.
