Abstract

Life in the cities through the centuries, from Hellenic culture to contemporary artists of rock and roll, inspiring poets as poetic chroniclers of urban culture in deep reflection, analysis and a strong artistic observation. Social criticism dominant in their verses, indicating the disadvantages of a living environment, mainly based on the imperfections of human nature, and the community as a whole. Branimir Štulić, as a leading rock poet in the former Yugoslavia, with rich poetic opus successfully described the feelings of the young generation in an urban environment, sharply criticizing society prone to selfdestruction, especially addressing the fate of man in preurban neighborhoods, which inevitably leads to alienation, paranoia and self-isolation.
