Abstract

The paper points out the problem of integration of a large number of Muslim migrants and refugees in France and Germany, countries that received a large number of migrants and refugees after the outbreak of the migrant-refugee crisis in 2015. Since the notion of integration was initially discussed, the problems faced by migrants and refugees in France and Germany are presented in more detail. As for the first country, it was emphasized that before 2015, France faced the issue of integration of a significant number of members of the Muslim minority in its country, but state dealing with the integration was not going in the right way, which was especially seen in the labor market. In the case of Germany, the situation was similar. This country invited migrants and refugees to come, but their ignorance of the language and attacks on the German population by migrants in certain cities, made the process of their integration complex. This was especially influenced by the media, by changing the way of reporting which strengthened Islamophobia, which was a big change for the German media since it had not been expressed until then. In conclusion, the impact of all integration issues on the policy of both countries towards the migrant-refugee crisis was discussed, and for France it was pointed out that this situation led to a strengthening of the negative attitude towards migrants and refugees, especially after the attacks in late 2015. which caused many casualties, and for Germany it was emphasized that ignorance of the language and physical attacks on the local population led to a different attitude of the German state and the media towards them, which could be considered an involuntary change.
