THE STYLE OF DIPLOMATIC LANGUAGE IN NEGOTIATING ABOUT KOSOVO -WOLFF AGAINST JEREMIC

The paper deals with the analyses of diplomatic style of conversation of two diplomats: Alexander Wolf, the USA Ambassador to the UN and Vuk Jeremic, the Serbian Ministe of foreign affairs at the meeting in New York.The basic elements of theories of P.H.Grice and M.A.K.Halliday are included in this paper.
The main concern is with the criteria of relevance.It is one of the central problems in the study of style in diplomatic language and linguistic regularities.It is very difficult tusk and there are several angels of vision.The place of diplomatic language in the study of style , in turn, leads to a consideration of functional style in diplomatic language.
