DEMYTHOLOGIZATION IN FRANCIS BACON PAINTING
Keywords:
Totalomahy, Demithologization, Plan of Expression, Plan of Substance, CrusifictionAbstract
The work indicates presence of mythical pattern that can be considered explicit and supstitive as well as implicit, even when it occurs with a clearly defined – demythological tendency. Bacon’s triptih „Tripthih-Crucifiction” consists of mythical explicit: mythical supstitute is a part of the basic situation, theme and context whilst the mythical implicit is a part of the function. The expression represents the crusifiction witness, intended or accidental information (eg sister in law) and possible message.
Semiothically speaking, Bacon’s triptih, Gospel about Christ represents Plan of expression, whilst, what can be called, Totalomachy – human rebellion against all the Gods and all their the possible manifestations – represent Plan of substance. As far as the Plan of expression is concerned, Form of substance in this work represents already mentioned Bacon’s manner „Smell of flesh” and Substance of expression represents of to torture, sacrifice and crucifiction. As Far as Plan of substance is concerned, the Form of substance (Totalomachy) it represents human need for total destruction, process of change of Order into Chaos or nonexistance. Substance of Expression is characterized by the idea of re-change of Order, World into Chaos after defeating experiences of Order. To end with, semiotical Reference in this work are terms of every pointless sacrification including Christ’s as well as definition of complete absurdity of existance.
