Monopolies are strengthening daily on media Serbian scene, and the influence of new political and economic elite is more pronounced. Such a situation has been greatly contributed by media ownership transformation, which according to general estimation, has been performed in insufficiently transparent way, and thus the owners of the media became people who journalist profession used for achieving some other goals either economic or political. Of course, first of all, media users are at loss, and also those who work for them. By upcoming sets of laws, greatly referring to regional and local electronic media, which soon may be adopted, the story on media ownership transformation in Serbia should be finished.
The authors of this work, by presenting European practice of the relation order in media sphere, analyze current achievements, as well as owner transformation suggestions in media and point to possibility to compromise the achievements of public interest on regional and local level. At the same time, the text offers possible models of ownership media transformation in which, instead of the state and ruling party, journalist would have dominant role.
