CULTURAL AND SPIRITUAL ELITE FROM NIS ABOUT PROGRAMS ON LOCAL TV STATIONS
Keywords:

The mass media have enormous power. They are no longer creators of images of the world, nor the so-called fourth estate, but the first force in the hands of a powerful hegemon, creators of the new world order which acts as a precursor to the conquest of the world. Media images presented from different newsrooms, operate mainly in a propagandistic way, raise the temperature, produce discontent or on the other hand, they have the same effect as an anesthetic to the masses, which despite what is happening around them, do nothing but spend hours and hours in the company of reality shows such as „Big Brother”, „Pairs”, „Farm” and so on. The media have aimed their power at convincing target markets that what they present is actually a real life. The audience, however, due to both a low level of education and a lack of media literacy, believes in deception of the media.
Such is the situation on the national television. What is happening on a local level is what this work is trying to figure out. While searching for an answer, the author questions representatives of the cultural and spiritual elite of local television programs in Nis.
