PEER VIOLENCE AS A FORM OF REALISTIC CONFLICT: CONTRIBUTION TO SOCIOLOGICAL UNDERSTANDING OF YOUTH VIOLENCE AND VIOLENCE AMONG YOUNG

Abstract

Youth violence is just a repercussion of wider violence and global violence today. It is only his phenomenal, but the most visible manifestation. Understanding of violence among youth is, therefore, impossible without understanding the broader sociocultural context in which it occurs. Beyond psychological and biological explanations of the causes of violence, much of human violence is social in nature. The main goal of this paper is to point out the sources of sociological theory to explain the causes of youth violence, where will follow the thread of the basic theoretical hypothesis of this article: Violence among adolescent population is one of the realistic conflicts, which means that violence serves as a tool to reach a certain goal, and that it is not an end in itself. In this regard it is considered that violence between youth and against youth is more than expressing aggressive impulses due to personal frustration bullies, given that frustration bullies are not just a product of personal shortcomings, but also structural, situational and objective circumstances. Accordingly, calm aggressive drive towards civilizing behavior or replacement facility frustrations he would urge aggressive moved, it is not enough by itself. We're not talking about the incident and isolated cases, but in terms of total value rendered senseless, violence that non-values as being the value that reflect the value system of the delinquent subcultural groups since it achieves evaluate the bully as "important" in peer group. This does not mean, however, that in such relationships, in general, there is no element of unrealistic conflict and „releasing tension“, which primarily be seen in the easy replacement of „object of frustration“.
