TERRORISM AS A THREAT TO GLOBAL AND NATIONAL SECURITY

Abstract

Terrorism is a specific social phenomenon which is a modified form accompanied by the development of human society. At first he was talking about individual acts of individuals or conspiratorial group aimed at overthrowing the current government. These groups are for the sake of achieving political goals resorted to violent actions that are in their perspective considered justified. However, in terms of the weak communication, lack of lethal explosives and weapons, actions were limited temporal and spatial range. Hence, security, criminal justice, sociology and any other concept of violent action is not labeled terrorist. On the contrary, the legitimacy of such actions was treated on the basis of their overall success. Where are the revolutions and upheavals thrive their perpetrators were regarded as liberators where this was not the case of plotters who for treason were sentenced to death.

Modern understanding of terrorism and activities of terrorist actions are based on different understandings that bind on the current temporal and spatial social and political moment. In this context, it is necessary to take into account the global and national dimensions of terrorism. They are incorporated into the sphere of geopolitics, which is often managed completely "strange criteria" to designate the specific organization for terrorist. At one and the same area of the same organization were first proclaimed liberation movements, then the armed groups, and in the end to terrorist organizations. In doing so we must not forget that the form of their actions and the consequences that in this way the victims caused by identical throughout their operations.

Aware of the different treatment of terrorism and the consequences of it this way cause, we feel justified in this paper point out the basic elements of terrorism as a threat to global and national security.
