Abstract

The public policing in a democratic society represents one of the fundamental principles. The police has an obligation, and in some cases need, to urgently inform public about the events of its interests who, at any given time, greatly affect the overall security situation.

Throughthe police informing ofpublic about crimes and investigations conducted, the police itself, often makes mistakes that greatly threaten rights of individuals and certain communities.

Throughout its sub statements to the media and various statements of the representatives of the police, the police has a duty to protect identities of people and other information that may lead to violations of human rights. The information given by the police need to pass the law provided procedures to be complied with the maximum prescribed for human rights and police ethics. The most common violations of law are related to victims of crime, especially when it comes to victims of juvenile crime and insufficient respect for ”the presumption of innocence” for people deprived of liberty with grounds for suspicion that they committed a crime. Violations are also related to protection of minors, the way of enforcement for certain offenses and the evidences found in the investigations. The media, often refer to sources from police and frequently publish previously stated information and, in this way, participate in the infringement of human rights.

Thus, this work examines and sees scientific into a very sensitive area in which, with the scientific understanding, it could be done more to protect the human rights of persons which are the subject of the police processing.
